Why gaming works when other things haven't 

Traditional social settings ask a lot at once, eye contact, small talk, reading a room full of strangers. Gaming strips that away, so a young person who's gone quiet everywhere else will often talk while they play.​

The People Behind GameMatesUK 

Every mentor picks up a controller because they genuinely love it, not because it's a script. That's what makes the connection real. Your child isn't being managed, they're playing with someone who gets why the game matters.

 

Some sessions stay 1-to-1 for months; others move into a small group when it feels right,Either way, it's their pace, not ours.

  • Supported with ongoing safeguarding refreshers

  • Focused on creating positive, respectful gaming experiences
